A Little About Julia:
Why do you tutor?
Education and learning have always been topics that are close to my heart. I've been teaching in some capacity for years (whether it's teaching myself or my little sister or young figure skaters at the local ice rink), and I love the rush and rewarding feeling I get when a student with whom I'm working finally "gets it" and gains a new understanding or sees their hard work pay off.
Psychology, since that's what I plan to study in college. I'm completely fascinated by exploring the ways in which people are motivated and how they think and behave.
What do you like to do for fun?
I'm a competitive figure skater who trains 25-30 hours a week during the school year (and more during the summer), so that pretty much qualifies as my "for-fun" activity. :) Any spare time left over between that and school is pretty much dedicated to extracurriculars like my tutoring for TutorChatLive!
Hmmm...either to China, since that's where my parents are from and where I had the most amazing vacation a couple years ago, or anywhere in the world where they're holding a major figure skating competition like Worlds or the Olympics.
What was the last book you read?
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Very wacky and weird but in the best way possible.
Dog or cat?
Cat for sure - in fact, I have one who is sitting on my feet as I type this :)
Chocolate or vanilla?
Both.
How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
As much as the peck of pickled peppers that Peter Piper picked.
